Bio and studies
It felt strange to put this all in one place, but why not.
I'm an agender person (they/them) of eclectic study who has been following various witchcraft/Occult practice since the late 90s in some capacity. I was raised in an interfaith Eastern Orthodox and Reform/Reconstructionist Jewish household by West Asian/East European/Balkan immigrants to the US/Turtle Island. I haven't really been aware of how much nuance and potential difference to various practitioners in North America this could introduce to my life until much more recently, as many of us Americans have grown to question the assimilationist paradigm we were raised with. Witnessing what amounts to selective appropriation of the Abrahamic and ethnic traditions I was raised with, in various occultist circles in particular, has been increasingly upsetting. Where I once resonated with familiar threads, as the 2010s moved forward I began to be aware of increasingly distressing abuse of occult principles for the advancement of White Supremacist, ultra-capitalist and other harmful goals. All that said, one of my primary Kabbalah teachers is non-ethnoreligiously Jewish and I've had deep appreciation for her respect and understanding of the practice.
I'm still, ultimately, one who feels like an explorer, one who's never really fit boxes in the witchcraft/esoteric world (or much elsewhere), and one who approaches authority with a healthy dose of mistrust. Currently I could best be described as an agnostic? and feminist Kabbalist. I'm not gonna sit here and give you a resume of how woke I am, but I'll say that I hope my practices are nudging me in directions of right relationship.

Special note: From 2016 to approximately 2018 I spent time at the side of a friend who instructed me in martial arts as well as the views of his SouthWestern Turtle Island/US indigenous nation that he felt comfortable communicating to me. He has expressed that he doesn't wish to be named. In the interest of respecting that I will not give his name or specific nation, but I need to include the energetic space for his wisdom in this list. I don't teach to others or communicate anything from his wisdoms for profit.

This is for potential tarot event clients:
Please understand that it’s now a hard boundary for me that I will not dress up in ethnic costume of a group I do not belong to, that has been extensively persecuted, to provide an element of fantasy for your event while I read tarot. This is highly disrespectful to all of the challenges and persecution that Romani have faced, and while not all people of this ethnic origin may have strong opinions on it, I am not comfortable with it. Here are only a few samples of thoughts on this topic, from a community diverse as any other.
